Coconut Milk - தேங்காய் பால் - (Homemade) How-to-?

Coconut Milk
Prep time: 10 Minutes | Cook time: 5 Minutes | Total time: 15 Minutes
Serve: 1 (Serving) | Calories per serving: 35 | Fat per serving: 3 g
Recipe Category: Milk | Recipe Cuisine: South East Asia

Ingredients:
Grated Coconut/Shredded Coconut/Coconut Pieces: 1 Cup
Water: 3 Cups

Instructions:
1. If you are using a fresh Coconut, break open the Coconut in the middle and drain water in a bowl. Use a sharp knife to cut the Coconut into triangular shaped pieces. If you are using shredded Coconut, soak 1 cup of Coconut in two cups of water for 10 minutes. Add the mixture into a blender and blend it well until the mixture is as smooth as possible.

2. Pour the mixture carefully into a filter and wait till is filtered fully. Use spoon to press and extract all the milk. The liquid that is extracted is the fresh and thick Coconut Milk.

3. Use the drained coconut from the above step, add 1 Cup of water this time and blend it well until the mixture is as smooth as possible. Pour the mixture carefully into a filter and wait till is filtered fully. Use spoon to press and extract all the milk. The liquid that is extracted this time is the fresh and thin Coconut Milk.

#1: You can use this milk as an ingredient while preparing Biryani's and Gravy's
#2: This milk will go well with Appam
